There’s an aphorism that goes: the more you say the more people forget. In our struggle for meaning we often head down one of two roads, that of silent reflection and the self loathing that accompanies non-productivity or that of over-production and a dilution of our ability throughout many different pieces.
There will always be works that stand out and there will always be works which show progress, but what should we aim for? Low quantity and high average quality or high quantity and low average quality (but with the possibility that something great may come from repetition and chance)?
